Knowing the will of God - September 2008
God wants you to know His will. And the way we can surely know his will is if we understand it’s a grace.
We need to apply grace in decision-making. When we understand the grace of God, your perspective changes on everything.
Grace means that God does it all. We simply receive from Him, cooperating with the Holy Spirit by trusting in Him moment by moment. We understand that every detail of life flows from our relationship with God.
It’s not being lazy or passive about it. It means that we act in confidence, resting in the fact that it is God who will initiate, be responsible for and complete His plan for our lives. To walk in grace means you know how to live at rest.
Rest is a place where you will know the Will of God. Being in Will of God is being at Right Place at Right Time!
Phil 2:13- [Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while [a]effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and [b]delight.
If you want to know the joy of knowing and doing God’s will? Then you need to know the difference of trying to know from trusting to know.
What is the will of God for me is the typical question we hear. Immediately the focus is on what and me. They are sincere, yet their perspective actually cheats him out of the greatest part of God’s will – the greatest blessing in experiencing Gods’ will is the joy of experiencing God himself.
They miss out by focusing on making the right choice that he misses the intimacy God intends for them to enjoy.
The question should be WHO is God to me? We focus on the will that we neglect God.
The will of God is mainly not a Plan but a Person. Jesus is the will of God. When one rightly relates to Him, doing the will of God becomes the natural result of our union with Him. Apart from Him, there is no map to know the will of the Father.
